Barbra has a long history with fitness and training as she was a competitive gymnast and dancer through her childhood and early teen years. Though Barbra worked intensively at her sport, she was forced into early retirement from competition due to recurring injury.
Barbra began taking Pilates classes twelve years ago when she found she was suffering from back pain and knee pain. Through strengthening her core muscles- she was able to conquer her pain. Convinced she could help others to win the battle against day to day pain, Barbra began working towards her teaching certification through the STOTT PILATES Studio in Toronto.
Barbra has a sincere passion for Pilates which positively translates into her classes as she is very interactive with her students. This ensures they are completing the exercises correctly, not only preventing injury but allowing them to get the most from her classes. Barbra believes that there is a strong correlation between strength and balance and hopes to help her students achieve both.
David was first introduced to Pilates as he was preparing to tackle his first marathon. With his passion for endurance sports and as an Ironman athlete, David found that the key to success for all three athletic disciplines was Pilates. With a stronger musculoskeletal system, he was able to train longer and harder without the usual overuse injuries. In 2013, David decided to turn his Pilates passion into his full time career, successfully completing the STOTT PILATES Full Certification program. As an instructor whose unique niche is creating Pilates workouts that are challenging, effective and progressive for athletes at any level, he has quickly become a sought after instructor in Toronto, whose passion and enthusiasm draws clients to his classes and his positive, diverse teaching approach is what keeps them coming back. David’s classes provide inspiration, awareness and most of all, a fantastic, fun and rewarding workout.

With over 12 years experience in teaching movement (largely in a dance environment) it should come as no surprise that Safia Kazulin also developed a strong passion for Pilates as a means of body conditioning. She has been partaking in contemporary mind-body fitness for over 10 years. While completing her Bachelor of Arts, Honours in Film and Literary Studies at the University of Toronto, Safia led a dance company at Victoria College from 2003 to 2005. It was during a dance performance in 2003, that Safia injured her spine, which in turn inspired her decision to attain her STOTT PILATES Full Certification – a goal she attained in 2009. Safia’s love of teaching is evident in the personalized and dynamic workouts she always strives to provide for her clients.
Wendy discovered Pilates during a minor back injury, she decided to continue to explore further. She was amazed at how Pilates taught her how to connect the mind to the body and how this crossed over into other athletic endeavors where she experienced great progress and improvements.
Wendy decided to take the full STOTT PILATES certification in 2017. Now as an instructor, she applies her creativity in a different way, using her eye to better understand how others move, and to create movement that the body needs. She loves to continually learn and finds teaching very rewarding. There’s nothing more gratifying to her than helping others achieve their fitness goals.
